Notice Carney said we will build a strong Quebec, a strong Canada!!! What would have happened if he said we would build a strong Alberta, or a strong Saskatchewan? Silence....???!!!

Trevor Marr's avatar

We are not in his plan. Let’s ‘GO’ #ALBERTA!

Why is protecting culture and quebecs wants more than the rest of Canada. Carney is vague on his reaso. But it sounds day like it’s all Quebec and labelling. How dumb is carney to punish the rest of Canada to protect the dairy cartels of Canada.

It's China. Carney's on the take. 🇨🇳

Smith is just being politically correct giving Carney some praise. The smart cookie she is, its certain she thinks of Carney as a blabbering idiot.

Trevor Marr's avatar

Carney’s intentional incompetence is treasonous?

Irene Mosher's avatar

Why would Carney say that "We'll build a strong Canada and Quebec......."? Isn't Quebec already in Canada?

Don's avatar

..ya..but THEY are a "distinct society"..(not to be lumped together with us "old-stock Canadians"who seem to have everyone on the planet wanting us wiped out..) NICE..SCHMICE..let's get at it..!!🎯 ⚔

Quebec should not be any more "entitled" than the rest of Canada !

Sovereignty Association effectively.

We are being played here. We have yet to see the details of the negotiation. The federal bye elections are on August 31. How convenient to extend the deadline to September. The liberals are once again using anti-American rhetoric and propaganda to boost their support and consolidate their power. There will be a deal done in September. If the government took a hardline on China with security and trade we would get a sweet deal from the U.S. National security is the number 1 priority in the U.S.

Tony McLean's avatar

Should be here too. Fire Comrade Carney!

Mc Ursula's avatar

The only reason Carney isn't retaliating until September 8 is because of the bi-elections. The same reason for tanking the trade deal. He needs all those elbozos vote, before he takes an even worse deal.

Tony McLean's avatar

How do you know what's in it?

Don's avatar

It's not for us to know..(as far as Carney's concerned)..

Karen R Harris's avatar

I wondered if Carney thinks he'll lose the by-elections, if we all knew . . . - I still don't believe one word that he says, anytime !

Logic's avatar

WEF New World Order Conflict Carney can't lose, dining high-on-the-hog in Canada, and jetsetting in luxury around the world to make future Brookfield business contacts, all as his US business empire grows and expands. Chase his insatiable lust for personal wealth and power, then parachute back to his US home, wife and family. Suckers!

I agree that he PM should not have signed any agreement, but the why is the big question in my mind. I am very sceptical of his explanation, lots of words but very little substance. I am getting the feeling these by elections are taking a larger priority in his decision. His past performance in this regard points that way. But now we have wait and see and Canadians are going to take the hit on this either way, NOT HIM.

Tony McLean's avatar

Carney was the one who walked out, not the US!

Dennis Cross's avatar

Publish the proposed Agreement so we Canadians can decide for ourselves if Carney is working in our best interests. Sounds like he is working for himself and Queerbec.

Here is a major potential problem that Carney is leading us into. He has used the term war, and that is a major mistake. The Yank papers have picked that up and if Trump or any of the other idiots there decide to turn this into a Canada/US war I believe we are toast. The reason is that

virtually every American I have ever met considers himself/herself a patriot and looks for ways to prove it. I doubt Carney and his clowns have considered what that could mean for us. Approx 40% of the revenue of our Major banks comes from the US in the way of financial advisors and investing, in addition hundreds of billions of $ pf Canadian business is done in the US and should Trump or any other nitwit decide to identify their bank as Canadian and the company

they have been dealing with as Canadian you can bet many will pull their business and move it elsewhere just as Canadians are doing. We cannot afford to lose that business.

Don's avatar

..as is Carney's goal..

Don's avatar

"Alberta Premier Danielle Smith is warning Ottawa that retaliatory tariffs meant to punish the U.S. could instead hammer Canadian wallets"

Well, yeah..that's been the plan all along..he strung Trump along..again..and look at the MSM just spreading the good word about Carney "standing up" to Trump..(while he's in Italy..)...

..Carney may have a REALLY short flight back here, tho.

Marilyn Hagerman's avatar

There were just a couple of key demands from the United States that made it really untenable for us to sign off,” she said. “It would have been too painful.”

Soooo, why the big secret? What are these oh so painful demands? Smith, of all the wishy-washy premiers, would have been the wise and smart one to knock markist Carney on his Beijing loving backside! Seems she’s under the Trump-blaming-spell of Carney! What a disappointment Alberta’s Premier is becoming, or has become!!

Don's avatar

When did Carney start giving a shit about OUR suffering??..and as far as learning what really happened at that meeting..Carney will take that to the grave..(stay tuned)

Victorine Warner's avatar

carny's behavior is typical of an egotistical greedy bully-boy. This will hurt Canadians. It'll barely if at all hurt any Americans and it sure won't hurt carny will it? Just us long suffering Canadians. I sure hope those liberal supporters feel it good. That's all those useful idiots deserve

Jessethedog's avatar

Smith is absolutely correct. The attitude of Carney and Ford is completely anathema to any fruitful economic relationship with our good neighbour. These guys are globalist liars who hate Canada.
