Smith is a globalist. Her biggest argument to albertans was you won't have a cdn passport. Yes you will, and your kids 2 generations down will have a passport...if you want one. She said British brexiters are now mad they have to stand in the long line to get to their vacation homes in Spain...been there/done that they are all long lines when they want them to be. She said it will cost albertans hundreds of billions of $ to set up but fails to mention all the billions of $ not going to Ottawa (or their friends) anymore. Smith misses the whole point, if albertans vote to seperate or just vote to vote to separate they will force Ottawa to "bend over" and negotiate with the true engine of the Canadian economy. History tells us that is how quebec is a "give me province" or I'll leave partner to Ottawa.

Canada is limping along with the baggage from 1867.

Three Maritime provinces were given 24 senators in 1867, and Newfoundland got another 6 senate seats in 1949- that’s 30 senators to Alberta’s 6 senators, and the Maritime provinces have approximately half the population.

And on it goes.

A Vote in PEI is worth triple what it is in Alberta.

The transfer payments that cost Alberta a net of $35 billion annually are a disincentive for the rest of the country to work and exploit resources.

It’s 2026, and the 1867 Constitution has to be changed if you love Canada because the people of Alberta are sick of the abuse and being dictated to without meaningful representation.

Wake up if you love Canada so much!

Crusader 5, You make alot of sense! I like and agree with what you are saying! Push the fuck out of Ottawa's criminals etc!!!!!

Typical liberal fear mongering coming from a leader I once respected. She has fallen to the liberals. Smith and Carney are big buddies. Please tell me how things have changed since 1980 when Trudeau and his henchmen brought in the National Energy Program and invented Petro Canada. What BS and Smith should be ashamed of herself for falling for Carneys BS.

Have faith. I think she’s playing a poker game and she’s the best poker player at the table.

If she gets commitments from Ottawa on everything Alberta wants, and Ottawa doesn’t deliver, she can say, “We gave Ottawa EVERY CHANCE to respond… and they didn’t.” Independence it is then.

Herb DeMars's avatar

She may get commitments but no follow through! Carney is a liar and will prove that when the supposed pipeline to the coast goes the way of the unicorn. He is owned by the WEF and has cast a spell on Daniele I guess.

Tina Ivany's avatar

Yes, he's a liar, but Smith is no fool and it doesn't start and end with Carney. Smith has been making plans while Carney has been flitting all over the world. She's been to the U.S. multipe times, meeting with state governors, oil executives and potential investors, so there's bound to be a Plan B if this "commitment" goes the way of his other promises. Not a hard sell when she has what they want, with or without Carney.

Herb DeMars's avatar

Good luck with trying to work around Carney et al ! The liar has a majority and will do everything possible to road block Alberta. The only answer is Alberta Independence and that will be a fight! Carney is collecting money for Brookfield and wants to destroy Canada as per the WEF.

jerry noga's avatar

That would be wonderful if you are right! Don't hold your breath!

Dan Anders's avatar

Don’t have to hold my breath, I have faith in Albertans. And I am more certain than not that Danielle will respect Albertans choices.

Tina Ivany's avatar

I can see your point, and I'm not a Carney fan, but she's not the one fearmongering. She's caught between two factions: the Liberals and the separatists. She must try co-operation with the Feds, while keeping a calm, steady line with the separatists. Neither side can be ignored because the issue of separation is not going away, and if she can get concession on progress from Carney, it's a win for the remain side.

Herb DeMars's avatar

Remember the referendum on equalization? How many years ago and nothing. So all these referendum items in October will be the same. Ms Smith lives in a dream world with a prince like Carney.

Sovereignty doesn't have to cost much and the long term savings will be huge

Best. Investment. Ever.

My bigger concern is whether Ottawa will cough up the full entitlement Alberta has in the CPP?

I honestly think that Danielle Smith really needs to listen to what Albertans really want because they have pretty much made it clear and that is that they want separation, but Danielle Smith seems to be weaking in her stance of this because she is choosing to try to negotiate with a Globalist Criminal Carnage Carney and that is a Major mistake on Danielle's part. She needs to respect what Albertans want and she should stand on those principles

Tracy Matts's avatar

I would contend that it would cost Alberta far more to stay..

Just our share back from CPP would cover Daniels estimate of costs of Alberta saying :BYE BYE:

Let us all understand that Canada was coopted a LONG time ago by liars and pedos claiming to be Canadian Nationalists. Oscar Skelton and Pierre Trudeau laid out the plan to hide within the Libtard identity to consume Canada for their oligarch overseers. None of these people were Liberals from Pearson to Justin. King may have been a Liberal but like Biden he was nothing but a puppet of those surrounding him who were anything from Anarchists to Communists. Many of those surrounding King like Robert Bryce plotted to unite the CCF with the Communist Party of Canada in order to control the West however Trudeau had a more subtle plan. His plan was identical to that laid out by the Soviet Comintern and suggested by Skelton. A slow INFILTRATION and the use of migration and immigration to water communities down. Trudeau's Marxists in Libtard clothing put people in key political races in Alberta to water down Alberta's Conservatism. They use Marxist tactics to weaken, replace and DESTROY. There is NOTHING Canadian about Ottawa and the subhumans that inhabit its political spaces. They are ALL traitors and vile scum.

Haven't we already sent 400 Billion to that little Jewish Nazi running Ukraine? If the average Canadian MORON is ok with that, what's the problem Alberta? At least its going towards YOUR future and not for MURDERING people for the globalist Zionist pigs.

Reid Moseley's avatar

400 Billion ? Well that's a lot of money for the cost of paper filings.

Somebody's gettin' rich.! Find out who and fire them, or better yet, if possible, have them charged and arrested.

Smith is a corrupt disgusting excuse of a human...A typical manipulative opportunistic politician who will lie about anything to get Albertans to stay with Canada ( another corrupt disgusting excuse of a country )..What federal debt..???.Who borrowed that money..??.NOT ONE VOTER DID..All Canadian Governments are service corporations owned by charles et al that maggot leech in england..THEY lie about borrowing money, then force every Canadian to pay it back as " taxes " ( more fraud )..Charles also owns the governor general, the lieutenant governor, parliament, the senate, the judiciary and the rcmp....Why do you folks think that ALL of them swore and still do swear allegiance to the Crown...???.Canada is NOT and has never been an independent Democratic country. Its all a lie..It's time that ALL Canadians wake up to that fact...Alberta is leaving...PERIOD...

Stay and have nothing . Carney will wind down Alberta .

I'm much more terrified of remaining in this liberal, net zero, dystopian can'tada than I could ever be of the initial costs for us to gain our freedom and independence. Prosperity awaits, however long it takes! This just sounds like more fear mongering from our federalist premier. Future generations are depending on us. The time is NOW!

Sheepdog's avatar

What is the cost to dump DANIELLE, she has her bribe money and needs to be removed.

K Brooker's avatar

I don’t care about the cost. How much have we already lost and will continue to lose with the Liberals in power.

Jason Wright's avatar

Smith is a liar. Totally owned and if her allegiance to NET STUPID wasn't your first clue, the fact she thinks it'll cost Alberta $400 billion to separate certainly does. Studies have been done and it would cost less than $10 billion to git er dun.so that's a fifth of the money we'll save every year not sending money to Ottawa.

I'm looking forward to replacing her as leader, it's time for a pro independence Premier. We will have our independence question in October and for those who want to fearmonger about splitting the vote, don't bother. This is about principles, not staying that status quo for fear of another NDP debacle. The NDP will never win and at this point you'll have civil unrest if the will of the people is ignored. It's time to oppose tyranny, no compromise any more and no fucks given.
