These really crazy ideas stem from having a bloated bureaucracy. Bear with me. The feds hired a bunch of people who really have nothing to do. So, they have to make up stuff. Then the supervisors and directors who have even less to do, start a project so they can claim to have done something so they can get a better paying position. So, get rid of a 100,000 or so federal public employees and the rest should be too busy to think up stupid stuff.

The hell you say! If the international students can't afford to live here, there is no way Canadian taxpayers should for pay for their Food, accommodation and medical expenses!

I did my own study and I recommend that universities and other schools that invite international students MUST provide residences and cafeteria meals for ALL foreign students that they accept. It can be part of their fee structure and can ensure that these students don't need to work to cover living expenses.

How about putting Canadian students first in all areas of study where there are student quotas. I am thinking programs in medical, dental, engineering etc. if there are not enough Canadian applicants for a program then allow foreign students. Unlike many other nations most universities in Canada are subsidized by Canadian taxes.

Yup, fund another study, using more bureaucrats, only to find that migrants should be given more consideration than our Canadian students. 😏

How do these people get out of grade school?

I wonder this same thing about all university students in this country whether there are native or foreign. Then they become professors and lecturers in these halls of idiotic ideologies

Mike Robinson's avatar

The simple solution to this demand is to stop all foreign students from studying in Canada. Stay home!

It seems like, from the name of the author, she is Asian and where do a good portion of pur international students come from? And she’s in the diversity category? No conflict here.

A study produced by a Chinese person….

Wouldn't UofT make the most money from foreign students? I see no conflict of interest here, nosiree, no conflict of interest at all.

Christine Johnston's avatar

So it's more important that U of T make money than Canadians are properly housed before people coming here from other countries!?

I guess you didn’t spot the tongue in his cheek.

I worked 2 jobs during the summer before entering University and continued that for 5 years. I also had a job while attending University. I put myself through school by hard work. It took me 16 years to pay off my student loans. Now, these students want a handout. No. If they cannot afford to live here, (I realize how expensive everything in Canada is), they need to find somewhere else to be educated. The taxpayers are done picking up the bill for everything.

Just stop them from coming

There are plenty of vacant bachelor and 1BR units in Toronto.

I guess that we have a great line of credit so we can hire “ ethnics” to churn out this word salad meaning nothing.
