Right... but is youth employment low because it's going to all the migrant workers and illegals? Just wondering because my nephew could not find summer employment a few years ago and had a stellar resume.... when he went to the places he applied to there were only East Indians, Muslim, etc.....

100% they need to vastly reduce the foreign workers program. This program has expanded to every job sector and is killing opportunities for young Canadians and TAXPAYERS PAY FOR THESE PROGRAMS!!

💯% agree. All the immigrants have driven wages down too. My granddaughter works part time & gets paid $3.00 below minimum wage.

I don't know any trades that would hire a migrant without qualification over some one who can speak the language and has passed the qualifying test. we need more Tradesmen. No schooling required other than an apprenticeship.

Did I say trades? No, I didn't.... I was referring to youth employment just like the article talks about... and yes, they do hire unexperienced anything now and are willing to train them so it satisfies their DEI hires and makes the company look "woke"....

The only Canadians benefitting from the carnage liberal policies are liberals and their big money, insider supporters. Alberta independence can't happen soon enough for me and everyone I know. Carney's elbows up crowd can have what's left of the Canada we once new and loved!!

Temporary foreign workers that provide employers with a hefty rebate come tax time? That advantage is not available to our own Canadian youth.

But also , all the new immigrants are taking our Canadian kids jobs . 🤬🇨🇦 . Unfair . Our kids are discouraged. I have 2 - 15 year grandkids . They want to work but not in fast food .

They don't teach kids the trades anymore, You can make far more money working with your hands than sitting at a desk. Most people who don't fit into the school system, fit into trades.

Youth employment is also kids in high school or university that need summer jobs or part-time work... this isn't about the careers they chose or don't chose... this is work in the meantime... this is not a debate about trades.

All of the job losses were in Quebec.

Why is youth unemployment so much higher in Ontario than Quebec?

Counterintuitive to say the least.
