Thankfully Alberta has common sense leadership unlike our federal government self-serving corrupt hypocrites.

Sounds very sensible and on mark for current needs. Other provincial governments could pay heed!

That is putting money to where it is needed and should pay off in the long term .

Hopefully they'll be able to hire more doctors that are native to this country. The immigrant doctors are great to boost numbers, but it's becoming harder and harder to understand them...just saying!

There is a need to increase the penalties for the drug king pins. Minimum 20 years in prison and life if it can be proven that a user died because of their drugs. Cut the head of the snake off and watch the use of drugs drop like a rock.

Save billions of taxpayers money and deal with the rampant, wasteful fraud in AHS!!!

ALBERTA Health Services….wait for it…the largest employer in CANADA!?!?

There is no way on earth, that AHS should be the largest employer in Canada, and Albertans should be absolutely livid and be demanding why, and where is all that money going. It certainly not going to the care and quality of services, and it hasn’t been for a long time.

Interesting. I know they are likely the largest employer in AB and have been since I started in healthcare in the 80s but all of Canada? Do you have a source handy?

Seriously Kim, that’s common knowledge….look it up.

Largest Public Employers in Canada (Named Organizations)

While the federal government is the largest employer overall, Canadians also recognize several Crown corporations and provincial agencies as major public-sector employers. These organizations stand out because of their national presence and workforce size:

Well, it's not so common. I did google it with your 'Largest public employer in Canada'. I do not see AHS. Give me your link. When ON has 3 times the population of AB that right there implies that AHS cannot be the largest employer in Canada.

Crunch's avatar

That was exactly my point Kim, duh. It should be mathematically impossible for AHS to be the largest employer in Canada, because Alberta has a much smaller population than a large province, like Ontario. That’s how you know that there is some shady stuff going on.

But for the Intellectually lazy people who won’t bother to look it up, I specifically pasted the relevant information from the website below my first post.

Quite frankly, I’m not surprised you didn’t find it. You’ll have to actually put some effort in, scroll down the page and look! https://stlawyers.ca/blog-news/largest-employer-canada/

Your welcome!

I found exactly what you sent me. I'm not catching what you are throwing. Carney and is 103 conflicts of interest and making deals just for Brookfield which is the number one after government. You just want to throw DS under the bus cause you're mad?

The best way to avoid paying off deficits from Ontario and Quebec is to keep deficits of your own in place so there is no extra cash for upper and lower Canada in eastern Canada. I would have to say congratulations to the western provinces that have found a way to use the revenue from their resources on there own deficits and in their own province.

Angela Koskey's avatar

We're running at deficits already. They still take it so quebec doesn't have one!

Spending money we do not have to enslave future generations. Shame on them.
