Why does the Prime Minister get to appoint the higher court judges? Clearly there is a problem with this system.

I would like it if they were elected, or failing that, appointed by the royal opposition party leader.

That is a really good question. So far they have appointed activist judges and that isn't going well.

Why aren't we electing Judges and Prosecutors? Why aren't there term limits?

I was wondering the same thing.

We know that this won't change anything. The only meaningful change will come through separation. C'mon Daniel get onboard! FREE ALBERTA!!!

This gvt always says the right thing "collaborative" but they do not behave how they talk...at all!

Melanie had to leave quickly..somebody yelled "bar's open"

Why did Melanie Jolie find it necessary to refer to Quebec as if it's a separate entity, instead of just another provine? She's the most unfit minister in the whole cabinet I think, and there's plenty of competition 😏

Excellent idea there is no balance in the selection of judges so this move by four premieres is welcome, I am not so sure that the governing liberals will do this but we have to keep up the pressure on the federal government to do something about this. As far as Sean Fraser is concerned his response was predictable, then again what should we expect from a Trudeau era hack!

Sean Fraser can make like the birds and flock off. Total pos and lying LPC dupe.

This is a no brainer and should have been done a long time ago .

The senate needs a big reform too.

Isn't this current government now trying to remove powers from provinces?

Mieke van Peenen's avatar

The letter was addressed to Mark Carnage, not Fraser. I guess since Carnage is never in the office, his maul just automatically goes to his minions?

Yeah so do the real Canadians.

Why does the National Post indicate that 73.6% of Federal Appointees were members of the Liberal Party from 2016 and Juno reports only 23%?

What are the real numbers? I thought it was even more like 100% of appointees (Judges) bribed their way into office, or was that Senators for Life?
