Trucks should have lower speed limits and gvt tested higher qualification standards everywhere because of the extra distance it needs to stop. I have seen too many truckers exceeding the speedlimit and putting the cars around them in danger. Mass immigration seems to have exasperated this problem, just saying.

What took so long, and how does a fraudulent driver training school happen? Sucking up to Illegals and allowing ridiculous levels of immigration, I imagine are partly to blame. I think wokeness and DEI also account for much of the problem.
As some one whose was in a position to witness what the Canadian govt did, post 2008/2009 recession, I can honestly say this: The govt's intention was good, to help retrain layed-off workers, but their methods were not very well monitored. Many unemployed people were retrained as truck drivers during this period of time, but a large amount of people being trained as truck drivers were right off the streets. Hopeless people, with no ambition! I am not surprised in the least that Canadian hwy's have become so unsafe. Allowing immigrants, who can barely speak english, to get behind the wheel of some of the biggest transport trucks in the world, taking losers off the street for the same training. What would a reasonable person think of this and I witnessed it, in fact it was the end of that short career in my life. Govt funded training is never a good thing, the only winners are the private businesses who can profit from these govt programs, nothing more!
Bad management 101...why expect anything else from any government body? No accountability whatsoever anywhere for anything. ALBERTANS...time to move on and cease being a province. Next stop: A Sovereign Nation
what's with traffic circles on 4 lane hwy's????? This is more dangerous and build absolutely wrong. Or is this just a way to control traffic and people in regards to the UN 15 minutes city's that your pushing. You can then really tell who's breaking your rules for them.
How do you keep BAD ACTOR'S from other Provinces off of your Road's as well ?

Clean it up, so vehicles are less apt to be weaponized. I am sure insurance companies would help implementing these regulation's as well as the provinces .

I watched the Canadian show "Highway To Hell" for years...how many times did a tow truck crew have to rescue a driver from India on the Cochahalla because they didn't know how to drive in winter weather...and when they emerged from their trucks they were wearing improper clothing, light jackets, running shoes, etc. on snow/ice and freezing temps, and had no idea what they were doing...drivers like these are killing people in the USA as well, and something is finally being done about it...there is a town in LA County called Chatsworth, and for many years the Chinese had taken over one of the DMV offices, and handed out drivers licenses like candy to Chinese who were never tested but paid off the staff...most of the accidents in Southern California are caused by these people.
Accolades to Mr. Dreeshen for trying to make Canadian highways safer for all of us. He should be made a member of the Order of Canada. It has been awarded to much lesser individuals just because of their woke political babble.
Uhuh, and you are a friggin idiot. You go against all logic. The speed limits are set for a reasonable safe speed for all drivers. And higher speeds increases fuel consumption dramatically. We have enough people getting hurt and killed on the highways. That will increase. Perhaps an idiot like you didn't notice that people now drive 20 to 30 km over the speed limit. Up the speed limit and they will increase that 10 more. If you have to get there that fast take a plane, moron.

at a minimum why is hwy #2 not six lane from red deer to lacombe/
between hwy #2 traffic and city to city traffic, it has become dangerous and congested
Highway 2 is mostly just a 1 lane from St Albert north to Peace river.
