These floor crossings deny so many people of their democratic vote and show us the need for the laws regarding this to change. It's not just a case of sour grapes because I never supported it when Liberals crossed to join Conservatives. This makes a sham of democracy.

Canadian democracy is a sham. Cdns send an elected representative to Ottawa and when they get there they represent the prime minister's office only! Anything they said, promised or represented in their everyday lives goes out the window.

Not true there is some really good MPs out there but it’s these corrupt none ethical MPs that sells their souls

I totally agree with you. People in his riding need to stand up and let him know how they feel and tell him they are not going to put up with this. The lieberals are so crooked.

I can't sympathize enough for the constituents in that riding. Betrayal is an extremely ugly emotion to deal with, especially when it comes from someone who has been as merciless as Jeneroux. I sincerely hope those constituents will make this guy suffer accordingly in the next election, and in the meantime treat him like the pariah he is!

A day late and a dollar short as they say. Too little too late. Politics has become a nasty verb that leaves all concerned voters dreadfully open to significant disappointment.

Considering the election results, wanting to be a loser in an election in Alberta which he will face eventually , must have resulted from one really powerful Marx Carney Koolaid . I think that the incentive must have been quite lucrative to become a turncoat.

Well, he said that he wanted to quit so the way that I see this is he's getting a post (bonus $$) before he goes out. He ended his career....but he was going to anyways! No respect for someone like that!

Shows his character!! Easily bought. He must realize that people will suspect that money was involved.

As a conservative, obviously this pisses me off. However, I do remember a time when floor crossings went the other way, and at the time I was quite happy about it. It's like the ultimate goal of politics is to make hypocrites of us all.

It's bullshit but it's fair play, and it's unfortunately legal. Next time the C's are in, they better make this illegal or they are no better.

I'm against it on principle, regardless of which party does it.

The big difference between past floor crossings and these, is past ones didn't result in a minority government getting uncomfortably close to gaining a majority.

All the talk of the by-elections or a snap Spring election makes me think the liberals are either confident of a majority win or hoping to loose a confidence vote on this budget, that they loaded with draconian powers for ministers to exempt individuals, businesses, or corporations from all but the Criminal Code.

It's all about control and power where we need accountability and transparency, but what do I know.

Excellent point. The underlying intent makes all the difference.

Good luck. The cpc isn't much different than the liberals. They just don't lie as much.

Sadly, I would have to agree. I've been listening to political podcasts from the UK and Australia lately, as they have very similar systems to ours, and it's very interesting because the conservatives in the UK managed to stay in over the last 15 years and they opened the borders and did all the woke s*** anyway. It doesn't take much imagination to assume the same would have happened here had the Liberals not won.

These floor crossings clearly indicate there is really no democracy in Canada. There should be an immediate dismissal and call for an election in this municipality. It almost seems fraudulent. He misled his constituents and in essence lied. Hopefully the conservatives would change this but who knows. All I can say is politicians seem to be the most corrupt and disgusting humans. Really sad.

This is where the riding of Riverbend needs to rise up and demand a resignation and an immediate by-election. This is a new level of low for the floor-crossing brigade. What are we doing here? What have we become? Canada has lost its identity and will continue to do so if we allow this type of behaviour to persist.

The voters in Markham made their demands known, there was a lot of fuss and as usual nothing came of it. As long as it works to Liberal advantage, the people in power, nothing will change.

He should be required to pay back every cent the Conservative association spent on his campaign. People donated to the Conservative party and did not expect to be paying for a liberal member

Jeneroux fits right in the Liberal party anyone that is dishonest and lies to his voters is qualification to be a Liberal.

Sue him. Take him to court and hold him accountable. Until precedence is set this will continue. I would love to know what he was promised to betray his constituents and his staff.
