The emergence of postmodern/Marxism coincided with the "hippies" or the Me Generation, when the ideology began spreading more aggressively through academia. Most professors considered postmodernism fringe, dismissing it as a social-science phenomenon not to be taken seriously until it had gained such a foothold that it spread exponentially.
I've covered this demographic reality many times. Not mentioned in today's article is the next largest category, namely women in general. It mirrors the US experience as well, for very obvious reasons. Since women dominate post-secondary education in degree attainment by a wide margin on every single metric, including race, they have been at the forefront of indoctrination by postmodern/Marxist ideology. The infection that originated in academia has created generations of deeply unhappy women who have been weaned on conformity and activism rather than critical thinking and independent thought. Purging it would take as long as the disease took to spread through educational institutions across the West, so expecting to reverse a 75-year trend is unlikely. Trump has given the US a temporary respite while inadvertently burying Canada. Our best defense is to closely monitor our children's education and keep them out of corrupted post-secondary institutions. Homeschooling would be ideal except that it stunts social skills.
