Any teacher who thinks it is okay to have sexually explicit materials anywhere within the school, library or elsewhere, should be evaluated as to their credibility to teach. This has gone on for far too long. Leave the parenting to parents and get back to scholastics.
Just goes to show you what low level of people are sitting in Edmonton school board. Their minds must be continually in the gutter. It's no wonder the graduates of today are so useless. They haven't been taught anything of necessity in life, like responsibility for one. The ones who do have a good education picked it up from decent parents, I'm sure.
The education system has been hijacked by the LGBTQ activist, pervs and woke enablers. I would never have my kids in public school, it’s complete and utter trash.
The people promoting this type of literature , which is nothing short of pornography , should be ashamed of themselves, our children should never be exposed to this disgusting stuff, school should be focused on the basics of learning as it was when we were schooled years ago. The woke crowd has taken over and need to be stopped and not later but now!
It's unbelievable that Canadians allow this obviously evil agenda on the children... I don't understand why there are not more people standing , or at least speaking , against this garbage
I can’t wait to see the list of books that are going to be pulled because of sexually explicit pictures. Should fit on a post it note. Danielle will do anything to rile people up so we are distracted from things that matter - like the fact she is stealing for people with disabilities.
Don’t criticize the way people implement if it is bad policy. Even her clarification. Define classic - is it books that are a certain age? A certain critical review? Good policy should not be open to as wide of interpretation as the first policy was. Ideology aside the UCP are just bad at governing.
And WTF are they getting so far out of their lane as to step on the toes of elected school boards?
People with common sense and decency know exactly what this legislation means. (BTW, elected school boards do not necessarily have collective common sense, as we see so many times, even in Alberta.)
Actually, education is provincial jurisdiction, so they aren't stepping "out of their lane." And if you're ok with pornography being in elementary school libraries, you're part of the problem!
I am very well aware of how the levels of government are structured in Alberta. The only level outlined in the constitution is the federal and provincial. That means that munis and school boards exist because the province says they can. HOWEVER. They delegate those responsibilities to other levels. For example, the Municipal Governance Act (MGA) outlines how munis will handle municipal issues. The MGA is the largest bill the province has. Those that they have delegated to run munis and school boards, are elected officials. By getting out of their lane and into the local and school levels, they are taking back what has been delegated to the other levels. That is getting out of their lane.
I find it very frustrating when people assume that because you don’t agree with them on something that they hold an extreme view.
I have never at any time said that I approve of pornography in schools. That is just plain ridiculous.I have pointed out that the school boards should be trusted to do it because it is under their purview. I have suggested that the provincial government leave it to those with the skills, experience and education in child development. And that the province not try and override duly elected officials at other levels.
Purposely exposing underage children to sexual images seems to have replaced what they need, which is an education in the academics of reading, writing, arithmetic, spelling, history along with testing for the comprehension of the school academic curriculum through periodic testing of grade level academics. I can imagine what testing children on sex topics is leading towards. Why are teachers even thinking that promoting pedophilia in the schools will not lead to raping or forcing young students into harmful sexual acts by predators? A lifetime sentence - or a death sentence must be enforced for sexually assaulting young children. Teachers, and or staff facilitating such evil depravity must be jailed, branded and banned forever from being anywhere near children in schools, and playgrounds.
This really makes me wonder what kind of people are becoming teachers. Their are definitely good teachers out their, but as usual evil seems to win nowadays as people have left Christianity

I am 100% in favour of removing all porn from schools and Libraries. The sooner the better.
Way to go! Thank you for protecting innocent children!
How many of these sexually explicit books/ materials are actually in the schools?? Anyone?? I’ll wait….
Hard to say because books, graphics and sex toys could be provided by the teachers themselves to "groom" children into sex acts.

I agree with the common sense statement. For proof just look at the UCP.

Disgusting perverted government and school board need to be fired and not ever allow for this type of material to be accessible in schools!
This has gone on for too long!
Pedophile disgusting reptilian bitches
