Agreed. Who is it in the schools who orders such books for school libraries? Are the books even ordered or just sent to schools as 'freebies'? If I were a librarian, I would dispose of such books before cataloguing them. If I were a parent I would be checking the book shelves and removing/stealing this type of "literature" for the protection of children.

Re measles, in the good old days when people still had some common sense, when a child in the neighbourhood contracted measles, mumps or chicken pox, the parents with children who had not yet had the disease in question would take their children round to the suffering child's home to deliberately infect them. They knew that once infected they would thereafter be immune for life. They also knew that these childhood diseases would be far worse if caught in adulthood. This is not the case with the measles vaccine because it cannot guarantee immunity.

I think that there is a difference between a public library and a school. The intended audience is wholly different, and I think you could actually make an argument about “book burning” here. But there’s absolutely no censorship in ensuring that children are not exposed to this perverted and disgusting pornography. And that’s what it is - there is no story, no art, just degenerate sex.

In West Lethbridge we UCP members chose Torry Tanner as our candidate for the 2023 provincial election. In the nomination contest Torry did a video about porn literature in school libraries. High-up authorities in the UCP forced he Torry Tanner to resign from the election contest in the midst of the campaign. We probably would have won the riding without this UCP infraction on our own local democracy process within the UCP. "Alberta's lead" was pretty late in coming.
