Never wanting to diminish his opponents’ outrage munitions, PM Justin Trudeau has just tacitly admitted that his policies have ventured into the realm of tyranny.

The comment comes in the wake of his overwhelmingly unpopular decision to trigger a snap election during a pandemic and supposed ‘fourth wave’ of COVID-19.

“We’ve seen situations where Conservative backbenchers have referred to some of this government’s decisions as ‘tyrannical’,” Trudeau begins, “in terms of how we’re creating mandates for vaccination of public servants or vaccination of people on trains and airplanes.

“Well, the answer to tyranny,” Trudeau continues with a smirk, all full of confidence, “is to have an election!”

The policies in question refer to the LPC’s recent decision to enforce a vaccine mandate for all public servants by October at the latest. This mandate will also include employees who work in sectors regulated by the federal government.

If that was not enough, shoehorned into the new policy includes a mandatory vaccine mandate for all citizens who want to utilize interprovincial transportation, such as trains, or access domestic flights.

The policy will affect millions and is one of the first Rubicon-crossing decisions which effectively establishes an apartheid state wherein a person’s civic access and rights are determined by vaccination status.

The irony of his response is not lost on onlookers. In one breath, he admits there is an element of tyranny to his recent decisions, and in another, he says the solution to his tyranny is an unwanted election with the sole purpose of consolidating power.
